Weekend Recap...

Why is it that weekends seem to go way too fast.

This weekend was a productive one-I bought a new car-yay!
I am now the proud owner of a Ford Fusion Sport-and I think
my hubby is a bit envious!!

Here is a quick weekend recap:

I love weekend mornings when the coffee is brewed and ready for enjoyment and I get to
relax and enjoy being with my two guys!

Nothing like a yummy smelling candle burning all morning either.
I have to say I cannot find a candle the burns and smells better then a Yankee Candle...there is
just something about them.

My little man eating breakfast and watching his morning cartoons--
he used to fit perfectly at the coffee table now he is just way too
big but he still insists on sitting there.

This weekend I also gathered all the wreaths that I need to decorate within the
next few weeks---lots of good colors and textures to pick from for sure-
super excited about all of them!

I also painted-painted-painted clay pots getting them ready for book page Christmas trees.

I was able to complete quite a bit more book page Christmas trees-
check back for a step-by-step tutorial this week!

I started getting ready for Fall since it is officially Fall!
I bought my first two pumpkins-cannot wait to get more!
Lot's more fall decorating to do around the house and entry way but this is a start.

Baby Charlotte came over for the first time!
Love her!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lastly we all went to Tractor Farm and Supply to start putting Andrew's
Halloween costume together!

Can you believe Halloween is not that far away and Wal-Mart is already advertising for
layaway for Christmas-YIKES!!!!

Well I hope everyone had a great weekend, I know we did!

Randomness......

This week seems like we have been on "the go" a lot and tonight was no exception.

I went to my first PTU meeting at Andrew's school after work and it was interesting, informational, and a bit long.  I dislike these type of days were I leave for work, work all day and then fulfill parental obligations and by the time I get home my peanut is fast asleep.

I do not like feeling like I missed out on his day...and I know these days are far and few in between but sitting here I am teary eyed because I missed out on what excited him today or what may have bothered him today and that stinks.

But on another much lighter note I recently checked out this book on CD and I think I may be hooked!  I am a reader but lately I have been so tired at night that I cannot finish a page let alone an entire chapter so I thought why not try a book in the car on my daily commute!
At first it was strange trying to listen attentively and drive but now  I cannot wait to get back in the car to pick up where it left off.  Yes, I am a nerd and that is o.k. with me because I will definitely be checking out another book on CD this week!

I bought this yarn this week and am going to use it on a new wreath-super excited I think the texture of the yarn and the colors are just going to POP!

Lastly I cannot wait for the weekend to begin so I can spend as much time as possible with these two guys-they truly bring so much joy to my life.

Baseball!!

Last week we were lucky enough to score some tickets to the Indians game.
The three of us went along with one of Kev's colleagues all the way from Germany.
It was a fun night filled with the usual hot dogs, cotton candy, peanuts and hot chocolate because it was cold!

Gotta say watching a baseball game under the lights has a nostalgic feeling!

A lot of the buildings were lit up-this one is the Terminal Tower.
I would love to make it to the top of this one day and take in the view of Cleveland.

As you can see Andrew has having a good time!
Really I think the highlight of the night was seeing Slider!
He found a paper that said you can have a birthday party
with Slider...and now he has a one track mind!

Daddy spoiled him with his very own Slider!

Group shot of US!!!

Kev looks a little surprised and Andrew is not even looking-oh well better luck next time.

On the way to the parking garage I spotted this Rally Alley all lit up, I sooo
wanted to run down this street for the fun of it but did not :(

Have a great Wednesday!!

Crafting Angels!

Yesterday I came home from work and found bags of crafting goodies on the kitchen island!
My mom and mother-in-law both went out and picked up a few crafting supplies for me just out of the blue!!! It was so nice of them and I appreciate their generosity and support as I get ready for my first craft show!

Thanks moms!!

Over in the dining room area of my house-I need to post a "enter at your own risk" sign because this area just may swallow you whole right now.
I think it is time to bring in another table and straighten out the "happy mess!"

Lastly I have been working on book page christmas trees.  These simply are turning into my favorite thing to make....and I may be biased but I think these
babies are going to SELL SELL SELL!!!!!

I have 5 completed and 25 other clay pots waiting to be turned into little christmas trees!

I will post a "how-to" very soon they are easy to make and are really cute!

Here are the 5 I have finished!
I think it is going to be hard to part with some of the stuff I have been making for sure...but
I hope all my creations will make someone else as "giddy" as I get about them too!!

Have a great day!

Craft Show

Today I went to the first craft show of the season, The Village Peddler with my mom and mother-in-law.The weather was amazing and many of the vendors had amazing items too!
I came home with something special-bet you can guess what it is!?

From this view you can see that there were so many little happy tents ready for people to find a special treasure and take it home with them!
There were 165 vendors here-maybe next year I will be one!?

Midway thru our adventure we came across this coffee truck!
The coffee smelled amazing-how awesome would it be to
work in this little "Java Express" truck all day.
Loved it!

I came home with this OWL-yes an owl!
So stinkin cute with the spools for this feet-LOVE!
I have to find a good place for him now in my house.
He makes me smile!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, I know I am!

Owl Obsession

Yesterday I posted a pic of my owl warmer and told ya that I have an owl obsession well I do...and it all started when I bought this owl from Anthropology that sits on my kitchen counter.

This owl had me at "hello" and started my owl craze!

Second obsession of mine is coffee so when I spot a coffee cup with an owl on
it...I get giddy and it must come home with me!!!
A good cup of coffee with a cute coffee cup in hand=bliss!!

Next my owl obsession carried over to note cards.....I like sending hand written cards- call me old fashioned but I think it is nice when someone sends you a handwritten card and they send it "snail mail" to you!! Whooooo (get it!!) wouldn't want to get one of these cute card!!

Third obsession....yarn which led me to this owl that I snagged at TG Max with my sister-in-law!
This little guy holds all my extra yarn!

Another owl on top of my dining room hutch!  I picked this one up at a flea market-it was one of those moments that I couldn't stop thinking about the owl so I had to get it!!!

Then when  I took my son school supply shopping  this summer I came across this notebook at Target and yep I bought!  Writing down notes at work got a little happier in this guy for sure!

Lastly I recently just purchased this owl at the craft store, when I brought it home my husband was like "really Steph another owl!" I keep telling him I don't smoke or drink so if I want to buy an owl once in a while so be it-they are my guilty pleasure along with coffee, magazines, books and craft supplies!!

Tomorrow is Friday and I am pumped because I am heading to a huge craft show on Saturday, The Village Peddlar. Last year I ventured to the Country Living Fair and scored some major finds so let's see what this other one has to offer!!

Currently....

Currently  I am deciding if I want to continue reading this book OR move on.
I am a reader I LOVE to read and absolutely love a good book that I cannot put down.
You know the type of book that on the very first page you are hooked and stay up till the wee hours of the night reading cause you just can't put it down. Well I am not there yet with this book and I am on Chapter 17 for god's sake!!! Right!? You are probably thinking that I am nuts for being this far into it already but I feel like I owe it to the book-silly ya I know!! It is funny I told a lot of my family members this past week that I keep thinking of this book like a bad break up :)  I keep picking it up and continue reading HOPING I get sucked in and fall deeply in love with it..but I am just not getting there and I have a few books on my nightstand just waiting to be loved. So what would you do? Do I stick with it or move on? HELP!!!

Here are a few other books waiting to be opened and loved on my nightstand!!

While I am sitting here and pondering my reading material tonight I am drinking my second cup of blueberry tea because I have successfully caught the cold my hubby and son had all last week.  Awesome right!?

I am also trying to "smell" a new scent I bought from my sister-in-laws Scentsy party
it is Blueberry Cheesecake.  Love my owl warmer.
I have a thing for owls, we can get into that later!!

Lastly....this little guy challenges my husband and I each day with parenting and tonight has been no exception. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I hope one day he will realize why sometimes lessons were hard to learn.
